Her expression changed.
"Oh."
She recognized me.
"Yes. She's in the waiting room."
I looked past the reception desk.
And then I saw her.
My world stopped.
She was sitting in a chair near the window.
Dark hair.
Brown eyes.
Small scar near her left eyebrow.
The same face I had seen in photographs for ten years.
The same face that had appeared in my dreams.
She looked up.
Our eyes met.
She smiled.
"Sarah."
I couldn't move.
She stood.
"Are you okay?"
I took one step toward her.
Then another.
She looked confused.
"Why are you staring at me like that?"
I wanted to scream.
I wanted to run.
I wanted to grab her and never let go.
Instead, I whispered:
"Clara?"
She smiled.
"Obviously."
I started crying.
Not quietly.
Not gracefully.
I completely broke down.
The receptionist stared.
Clara looked frightened.
"Sarah?"
I covered my mouth.
"You died."
Her expression changed.
"What?"
