Not What She Expected
Lina assumed they were flying to an exotic honeymoon destination.
Perhaps the Maldives.
The Seychelles.
The Amalfi Coast.
Instead, a simple SUV waited outside.
No chauffeur.
No limousine.

Just Kareem behind the wheel.
They drove nearly two hours outside the city.
Eventually they reached a modest neighborhood far removed from expensive resorts and luxury hotels.
Children played soccer in dusty streets.
Small grocery stores lined the sidewalks.
Apartment buildings showed signs of age.
"This is where I grew up," Kareem said.

Construction plans.
"What is this?"

"I know education matters to you."
"So instead of buying another mansion..."
"I thought we'd build opportunities."
